Originally from St.Catharines, Ontario, Ted O'Reilly has hosted the "Jazz Scene" on CJRT-FM in Toronto since 1965. A graduate of the Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, he also worked in radio in Kitchener and Brampton.

He has produced some 200 concerts for CJRT broadcast (including the music of Ellington '87 and '96 in Toronto), and recorded several hundred other performances in clubs and halls. Many of those have been released on disc for labels such as Sackville and Unisson in Canada, Maracutu in France, and Philology in Italy. As well, O'Reilly has produced in-studio recordings by Dick Hyman and Dick Wellstood, Gene DiNovi, Art Ellefson with Tommy Flanagan, Rob McConnell, Stanley Cowell and Ed Bickert, and others.

Ted has interviewed hundreds of jazz greats, such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Earl "Fatha" Hines, Charles Mingus, Eubie Blake etc. The Toronto Musicians Association has made him an Honorary Lifetime Member in recognition of his work for musicians and live music; and his Alma Mater gave him its highest award, a Fellowship for accomplishments in broadcasting.
