Alex Pangman is fast becoming one of Canada's leading classic jazz vocalists. She has a voice that is extraordinary in its maturity, matched only by her ability to interpret music that was written almost half a century before she was born.

She sings predominately music made famous during the 1920s, 30s and 40s by such ladies as Mildred Bailey, Ella Fitzgerald, Connie Boswell and Bessie Smith. Her band, the Alleycats, always superbly augments her blend of high-energy swing tunes, soulful ballads and tasteful blues. Preceding the formation of her own band (Alleycats) in 1997 she had performed with internationally renowned guitarist/singer Jeff Healey, The Hot Five Jazzmakers, Tyler Yarema and his Rhythm and the Climax Jazz Band.

She is one of the most exciting young jazz and swing artists emerging with a powerful voice that commands attention. In 1998 she appeared at many of the Ontario jazz festivals including the du Maurier Downtown Toronto Jazz Festival and Port Perry Jazz Festival.
