Joseph Puma

Joseph Puma was born in New York City on August 13 1927. His first jazz gigs were with a small group in New York, but in the late 60's he left to pursue a career as accompanist and conductor for vocalist Morgana King , and then later with another vocalist Fran Jeffries. In 1972 he formed a duo with fellow guitarist Chuck Wayne which often appeared in such clubs as The Guitar and Stryker's Pub (N.Y.C.) He became a faculty member at Housatonic College in Bridgeport, Conn, teaching applied music and guitar. On the Mike Douglas TV show he appeared with Morgana King and continued to do stints with Chuck Wayne on TV and in concerts/festivals.
